Unlike laser engraving and cutting, mechanical engraving allows fine processing of both plastic materials and soft metals, incl. deep engraving (obtaining the so-called 2.5D objects). The mechanical engraver used in DUKOV Co. is a product of AUTOGRAV, Germany, and has the following specifications:

Milling tool speed: up to 26,000 rpm
Resolution: up to 800 steps/mm

The main application of mechanical engraving is to produce deep-relief images through mechanical removing of material. The system can also be used for marking hard-surface materials by using a diamond-nib tool without rotation.
